Ceramike was at Mallams sale today trying to buy a Casson jug. When I asked him if he had got one his reply was "I think I have made bids over three grand today in total and got nothing".

Despite the relatively low estimates at Mallams today, the Casson pieces and the jugs especially sold for far more than I could ever have expected.

I suspect that another day and another auction it would be a completely different story.
