What did it look like? I have some tucked away which I was thinking of dropping off at the charity shop next time I come across them.
Here's a photo...

Yep. You don't ask, you don't get, I suppose. I'm sure I've seen a similar one on my travels...

Re: Drioli (Italy)
Cheers. Mine were a couple of totems and the African ladies. But I'll keep an eye out round the car boots.

11.25in! Now that's better than a slap in the lalas with an antique mangel, is it not?

Brioli / Brioll? Italy.
I can't decide whether the stamp on this figure reads Brioli or Brioll, and there doesn't seem to be much on the internet regarding either.
I'm wondering whether it's the pottery name or if the word 'Exclusive' might point to a range made specifically to a retailer called Brioli / Brioll.
Anyway, it's a nice little thing, a black servant girl holding a slipware dish. There's a hole at the top which I think may be for spills or maybe incense sticks, the dish being there to for used spills or incense ash. Or she may just be a posy vase, but at only 3" high she's a tad small for that.

Re: Drioli (Italy)
It's Drioli, but a pretty common one unfortunately.
It was for a pretty disgusting cherry liquer.
Sometimes the contents are still in there with a stopper and a foil cap!

Re: Drioli (Italy)
Thanks, dd. I have seen a few of this model and another similar one around*, but never one with its original contents. Obviously that's because I've always searched for Brioli or Brioll.
*mostly on ebay and always listed as vases or spill holders.

Re: Drioli (Italy)
They are from the 50s, and if unopened the liquer soaks through the pourus
pottery, staining it dark brown beyond repair.
They also had a silver foil flash describing the contents.

The African figures are fairly common.
There are also some wth little 3D flicker panels stuck on which are better.
There are also Giant ones that are pretty rare.
Ones to look out for are the Jazz band. 6 musicians, and a singer (the rarest one).
Try and make up a set. Below is the Sax player.
As I remember, Sax, guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, and.... something else
