Italian Tiles on cheeseboard
Did he produce them for the teak type 60/70s cheese boards? Think they were produced by a company called Wyncraft ir something close to that. I have one with two tiles on it and have thought about prising them off as they'd look better framed up and hung on my walls?

Re: Italian Tiles on cheeseboard
The tiles aren't very strong, imo, so prising them off may result in them snapping. May be better to sell the boards intact and buy some unattached tiles with the cash.

Yes I know what you mean Naomi. Probably why I've not attempted it, but would
love to see if his mark is on the back. Mine look more akin to sunflowers

Its obviously not a Wallwork?
Have you spotted a crack that I've missed?
The two tiles put together are worth less than a Wallwork?
There must be something good.....
Go on then do tell

Re: Italian Tiles on cheeseboard
It's a nice tile but IMO it's not by Alan.
It's completely different than all of these;

Tiles on cheeseboard
I've split this thread because I think Bluenote's tiles need their own one. I'm assuming Crawford's reply is to Bluenote.

Easy, use methylated spirits. Keep pouring into the gaps round the tiles, the wood will soak it up.
They come out quite easily then.
Re: Italian Tiles on cheeseboard
Thanks for this and for the tip Denbydump. Will give it a try. I suppose the tile can always be stuck back on providing the meths hasn't had a detrimental effect on the wood

Re: Italian Tiles on cheeseboard
Scrape off all the old cement, and dry on a gentle heat.
Can be stuck back in with standard tile adhesive if necessary.

Re: Italian Tiles on cheeseboard
Yes. I can confirm this tip definitely works and that 22CrawfordSt is correct - it doesn't appear to be an Alan Wallwork. The whole process tpok over an hour so if anyone else wants to try it my advice would be don't rush it. Pour the meths in the centre of the tile and brush outwards into the cracks around the tile. Wear goggles as the meths can splash back if the tile slips back or if it does splinter or crack and bits fly off. I just need anyones ideas as to who might have produced the tile. It has a logo and Italy on the back. Thanks for everyones contribution

Yes opps forgot that one. Also well ventilated space. Gloves. Not suitable for children even with parental supervision and anything else the good elf of safety recommends.

Re: Italian Tiles on cheeseboard
I still suspect it has been decorated on a blank white tile,
in this case it happens to be an Italian one.
