10 cm stoneware mug, impressed Backwards R B Mark. Only marks I can find like this are Robert Louis Blatherwick and an American potter who does t seem right either. Maybe I’ve missed something in the book but this looks like a well made pot, made to sell in quantity and I couldn’t see similar online. I expect I’m looking at the Mark all wrong!

It looks like an an early Svend Bayer mark. One he used for 3 or 4 years in the late 60's early 70's.

Thank you, Philpot. It was one of my mums pieces and she had quite a few Svend Bayer pots.

Halfway down on the Svend Bayer thread. Trouble is that we now have so much information on this site now that it all gets lost!

More likely an RB mark. Probably Roger Boureau, Provence, (sometimes mistaken for Remi Bohnert, La Borne, Puisaye, France)

Hi Naomi,
There’s certainly a jug for sale online identified as Roger Boureau- same body and glaze - and handle put on in same way. Well done. It’s so tempting to see a mark as someone well known but have to say it’s a lovely mug and I might see if tea tastes good from it. Thank you.
