Pair of small decorative jugs - what are these please?
Its Italian. So the top half of the script reads ITALY. The bottom half might be either letters or numbers. Best to post this in IDENTIFY MY POTTERY thread as that is where we normally see these questions.

Agreed, Italian touristware, made in the latter half of the 20thC. Unfortunately most of the manufacturers records were lost in the 90s so it’s difficult to pin it down to a particular maker unless it’s one of the famous ones like Bitossi or FF. Sometimes we can only get the region.

Thank you both so much for your replies. These belonged to my great uncle and aunt who were very elderly; I remember seeing these jugs on their Welsh dresser ever since I was a little girl In the 1970s. I’d like to know more about them as I don’t think they ventured as far as Italy after WWII. From what you say, they would most likely have been a souvenir from a friend/family member who did .

Yes, Colorobbia ‘Sfuggente’ glaze. Popular in the 70s
