Triskele Pottery, Kirk Michael, Isle of Man
Triskele Pottery, Kirk Michael, IoM - often misattributed to Michael Kirk, rather than the place name Kirk Michael.
See Chris Southall who potted there in the 70s with a group of potters - Admin
I thought this coffee pot with lid was by the Leach Pottery at St. Ives but am now having doubts, perhaps it is early Mike Dodd - Circa 1971-1975.

Stylistically,it does not look like a Leach St Ives pot. The handle is wrong and I don't think they ever did that two-tone glaze. The mark does not really look like an early mike Dodd either. The arms are much longer, and the whole impression is slimmer than the mark here.Sorry!

Agreed. I don't think it's either, either. May be an sh or fh monogram? or even ch, looks like a bit of a finger nail across the C

Thanks every one for your comments, I also doubt that it is by Mike Dodd.
Here is a closer view of the mark.
Also here is an image of a mug which is illustrated on the Pottery Studio site featuring Leach Pottery. Same earthenware with added iron to add the reddish colour to the clay and the same two tone glaze.

It's not an unusual colour combination. I think Marianne de Trey did something similar, amongst others. Although St Ives does do it the best imo :)
Edited to add, the stamp might be a Jh monogram

It's a commonly used stoneware clay body.

I think its a very early Mike Dodd mark. I will check with the Yates/Owen book when I have access to it. Reminder to oneself, don't lend books!

Re: Triskele Pottery, Kirk Michael, Isle of Man
There have been several marks in this shape mooted as being by Mike Dodd but none have been confirmed. The mark in the book is too perfunctory to help. You’d need to ask Dodd.

I dont think it's Dodd's early mark; the shape of the stamp is different; yours is round rather than square.

Re: Triskele Pottery, Kirk Michael, Isle of Man
Worth noting that the mark used by the isle of man pottery, in Kirk Michael, used the triskelion mark which is the three legged symbol of the isle of man using both a square and round stamp
