Re: Alan Caiger-Smith and apprentices, Aldermaston Pottery
There must be some hoarders of ACS out there with fantastic collections as these lovely pieces come up in good numbers.

Re: Alan Caiger-Smith and apprentices, Aldermaston Pottery
Revisiting this and it does look like an Aldermaston shape, and an AB monogram for Aldermaston and potter’s initial

Yes it does, Christopher Bayley and Bernard Cass, both used AB marks, but not like this,
Then there's the Mystery Blackiston (Anne?) who also did, according to Goddens.

Re: Alan Caiger-Smith and apprentices, Aldermaston Pottery
It’s Aldermaston Pottery. Looks like Ann Follet’s mark from the list of apprentices

Re: Alan Caiger-Smith and apprentices, Aldermaston Pottery
Thre's something Aldermaston about it, but can't see a match in the mark.
Possibly a glaze trial.

Re: Alan Caiger-Smith and apprentices, Aldermaston Pottery
Aldermaston Pottery's standard ware. but I don’t know which apprentice made it.

By Mary O'Gorman. Trained at Aldermaston Pottery and then moved to Ireland

Re: Alan Caiger-Smith and apprentices, Aldermaston Pottery
The colours did make me think Aldermaston. Do you think this would have been done when she was at Aldermaston or later in Ireland? I can see some pieces from Kilkenny are marked wither MARY O GORMAN impressed mark as well as her signature.

Re: Alan Caiger-Smith and apprentices, Aldermaston Pottery
Seems to include the Aldermaston A plus OG in the mark, and one of the pottery's vase shapes (although she did carry on making them in Ireland), so I'd say made at Aldermaston.
