Looking at the Jane White Aldermaston book now. I don't think it is Lawrence Mcgowan. His Aldermaston mark was an A with a diminutive v at the bottom. The nearest one to it looks like Juliet Wilson, married name Harkness. She started at the pottery in 1969 and was there for 3 years.

Thanks for suggestion @philpot I have been in touch with Juliet Harkness who says as follows:
"No it’s not mine and I don’t recognise it either I’m afraid. The shape is what we called a “swallow” bowl if it’s a small cereal bowl size? but the painting is not the standard design and the painting is a little basic so it could have been an apprentice perhaps? I’m pretty sure it’s no one of my era 1968-72 ."

It is a bit bigger than what I would call a cereal bowl - 21cm diameter but likely an apprentice piece unless anyone can tell me different?

The list we have on this thread back on page 3 looks to be taken from the catalogue of the Aldermaston exhibition at Stoke Museum in 1985. So, it's not totally complete as the Pottery itself closed in 1993.

Two very interesting illustrations of early lustre glazing at Aldermaston. One has Geoffrey Eastop's definite mark, and the other looks as though it has as well, although it might be Alan Caiger Smith's. The lustre glazing is by no means perfect, but it is a good way to getting there. Now Geoffrey Eastop left Aldermaston pottery in 1962, so that dates these pieces to some of the earliest lustre produced at Aldermaston. The first exhibition they had of lustre work was at Henry Rothschild Primavera London shop in 1963. So these may have come from that exhibition.

The catalogue of the 1993 exhibition lists over 60 potters who worked at Aldermaston. A number of them did not have marks tho.

Unusual pair of bowls by Aldermaston Pottery. AB mark possibly by Christopher Bayley - Edited to add, possibly Anne Blakiston (also called Anne Blakiston-Houston) who had an AB mark and was there from 1961.
AE mark for Geoffrey Eastop - who left in 1960, so maybe Blakiston finished the set

Strange, looks like they ripped off the Poole pottery "Spear" shape!

Four tall goblets from Julian Bellmont 79-93 (I think). Has an additional unusual impressed J and a strange date mark that looks like a P with a dot under.

I don't know about the P, but the J is Julian Bellmont's personal stamp

Looking back at those two bowls that Naomi illustrated, Geoffrey Eastop and Christopher Bailey. There must be an interesting tale to tell there, given the unusual style for Aldermaston, and the different times that each Potter was at Aldermaston.

Even MORE so Naomi, Eastop left circa 1960. It makes it even more interesting to know who the other person was.

They are a bit of an outlier. The marks are very sketchy and I was doubtful they were Aldermaston, come round a bit now but when did Aldermaston do sgraffito?

They hadn't really got into their stride until Eastop left. Probably why he left, tbh. The typical Aldermaston decoration was very much Caiger-Smith's style and ethos
