Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
This plate is made by Jules Guerin (son of Roger).
Little information on the web about Jules Guerin. You can find info about the potters of the village Bouffioulx:

Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
Hi,
I'll try to make some pictures of Roger Guerin pieces but i can't assure you that they are made in the 1920 because none of them are dated.

Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
There is very little to find on the web, the only website where you can find info is the one i posted before and there are 2 books 'Sel et feu' / Marianne Fouconnier, Jean-Claude Migeot(French), and 'Au grès du grès de l' art nouveau à l'art deco / Musée le Clockarium (French and Dutch). The photos above are al Roger Guerin items and just a little part of my collection of the potters of Bouffioulx.

Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
I think the signature is Guerin. So maybe an armorial Bouffioulx bottle vase by Roger Guerin, Belgium.
A Roger Guerin? Age? Value?
I have a large pitcher/ewer from after my mother passed away which is signed on the bottom.
I am trying to determine if it is a Roger Guerin or from something affiliated with him.
Dimensions:
11 1/2 inches tall
7 1/2 inches wide (at belly)
3 1/4 inches wide opening at mouth
No cracks, chips, or repairs to this piece.
What its approximate age is and what it's value is if I were to sell it.
I would be most appreciative if someone could help me with this. Please see attached photos.

Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
the base and markings make me think it was made by one of Roger's offspring but I'm only learning about this pottery so may be wrong.
An auction house with a track record for selling antique European studio pottery might be your best option but Boston is a great place to sell art and antiques so you should do well in your home town

Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
The auction houses won't talk to you if the item is valued below their consignment price - many won't even look at something that is less than $10,000.
I'm suspecting this is not worth even $1000, but would like to know what it really is and what a reasonable selling price would be. Thank you to anyone who may be of assistance!

Roger Guerin - Vase with Metal Overlay - Restoration?
Thank you for these very informative postings. I have a Guerin vase with iron overlay. Sadly broken but looks great on display. I am thinking of getting it restored. Any opinions on whether this is a good thing? Many thanks

Too badly broken and pots undervalued at the moment, so not worth restoring, imo. It's value is as a reference piece only.

Some more help with this Guerin piece
Hi All
I acquired this today and I think it is Guerin but wanted to know more. It appears that it might of featured in an Art Deco Belgique book but that's £80 to buy lol
If anyone can tell me more it would be great ?
Cheers
James

Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
here's a link to the Guerin thread, a member called sdan had a similar piece which was probably made by Roger's offspring

Re: Roger Guerin (Belgium)
He started his own workshop in 1918 with his son Jules Guerin taking over in about 1945. Dating seems to be a problem, generally accepted that incised "R Guerin" marks are earlier with simple Guerin signatures, some impressed, are after c1925. Items marked Gres d'art R. Guerin Bouffioulx are probably about 1930. Roger appears to have exhibited his pots Paris during the 1930's and he was a member of the Socieate des Gres d'art de Bouffioulx.
