Please Help me Identify this item - New member - Thanks
Hello everyone. I have just signed uo to the forum, as this item has been causing me difficulty identifying.
It is of great weight, just over 9" high and 6" wide. It is definately hand made and the engraved image clearly displayed on the photographed is also on the reverse of the vase/pot.
Can anyone help?
Thank you
Russell

the figures look really interesting - is it some kind of metal that's been wrapped around to create a cylinder shape? or is it actually ceramic that's been treated in some way to make it look like metal?
either way, i hope you wont mind me saying but it looks a bit rough and kind of touristy to me - the female figure in particular looks like she's wearing African tribal dress. However, the sideways profile style of the figures is also very Modernist in it's approach - Henry Moore like

Hi Russell - welcome to the forum - we need to see a base shot always in identification requests (even if there's nothing on the base) since the finish can often give away vital clues.
Please post a photo of the base in this thread and if you could you make your photos slightly smaller as well that'd be great.
Cheers.
