Accolay (France)
See attached pics of a spear shaped dish I picked-up last weekend at a flea market. It has a fab lava glaze all over with a seventies style pattern to the inside. There is a mark on the base but it is hard to make-out? Could be Keolay, Keolax or it could even be an "F" at the beginning?? Hopefully the shield with a cross may be a clue? Looks Mediterannean to me, but has some age to it - anyone any ideas? Size is approx 410mm long by 160mm wide.

Re: Accolay (France)
Well done Hercules! Did a bit of research and found this site with a picture of an Accolay mark - notice although the marks is incised it IS accompanied by the shield mark with a cross inside!! Case Solved! Many thanks - would never have found that one!

Accolay lamp bases
Two lamp bases with a shield sticker 'Les Potiers D'Accolay'. Lots of incised marks as well that are almost impossible to read. I have looked into the Accolay potters but can't find a similar design, it would be nice to tie them down to a particular potter, also what age would they be?

Re: Accolay (France)
I have managed to work out most of the incised markings. There is the shield mark and Accolay and what looks like HC?

Re: Accolay (France)
The book says that the different marks refer to the shop in which the piece was sold so for the time being its difficult to know which potter tho there is a rumour that a book is about to come out dealing just with Accolay
50s Scandinavian (?) Jug - Can't read signature..

Celadon crackle glaze like vase - Accolay, France
Hi folks,
Thought this one would be easy for me as the base is extensively marked, but I've drawn a blank so far...
7" tall vase with a white over turquoise glaze producing a kind of celadon crackle glaze effect.
Maybe technical/experimental piece? European?
Thanks for looking...

Re: Accolay (France)
I believe this is French "Accolay" pottery.
I expect the crazing is intentional.

Re: Accolay (France)
Thanks Potty, spot on!
Seem to unintentionally be finding french pottery everywhere at the moment.
(I'm not in France either ) It was the fudged 'L' that confused moi.
Looking at other examples now, crackle glaze or not, this is kinda boring!

Re: Accolay (France)
I'd say late accolay as well even early 70s for this glaze the stamp should tell us but the long awaited book still hasn't come out
Large vase with indistinct marks and unusual glaze - Accolay
The glaze on this vase is just as interesting inside as it is outside. It has makes but I can't make anything of them. Any ideas?

Re: Accolay (France)
Accolay maybe? They sometimes used a shield with a cross.
