Re: Phil Rogers
Sad to say that Wendy Blackbourne has recently announced on the British studio Pottery Collector Facebook page that Phil Rogers has died after a short illness. Very sad.

Re: Phil Rogers
Announced on Goldmark Gallery website that Rogers sadly passed away this week. He may have been a marmite personality, but he was an excellent potter.

Re: Phil Rogers
Phil Rogers was also Goldmark's advisor/expert on studio pottery. As such he did a good deal to re invigorate interest in the Leach Anglo/oriental school. The whole studio pottery field owes him a deep gratitude for his part in that.

Re: Phil Rogers
He was the potter that I spoke to for advice/knowledge when I was considering opening a studio pottery gallery in 1998 and I know that Mark Goldmark bought pots from Phil for several years before the idea of selling pots, alongside art, became a reality in Uppingham. I also know that it was Phil's persuasion over a period that brought it about. So from the beginning, Phil recommended the potters to the Goldmark Gallery.

A lovely Phil Rogers obituary piece from Mike Goldmark on the Crafts Council site. Well worth reading.

Re: Phil Rogers
Goldmark gallery did some terrific videos with Phil Rogers. This is probably the longest one of well over an hour with Pphil Rogers trips to the USA and Japan in circa 2014.
