Help with ID please - Yellow Pot
A friend gave me this yellow pot. It is clearly stamped with a conjoined "JN". I can find no information on the mark. Can anyone out there help? My feeling is that it is European but that is just a wild guess.

Re: Help with ID please - Yellow Pot
Perhaps the photo is from a deceptive angle; it is definitely not an amateur piece, and seems at least 50 years old.

Re: Help with ID please - Yellow Pot
Pip, Sorry to sound so defensive as to provoke you. I appreciate your taking a look and offering an opinion. My reasons for thinking it not amateur are I thought the "looseness" of treatment was intentional, and as an amateur potter myself, I have not been able to throw anything nearly that thin (it is very thin). As for the age remark, that was just something I forgot to mention in the original post and didn't know if it was pertinent or not. That said, as I further examine this pot, I notice what appears to be some very small writing along the lower edge of the foot, just below and to the left of the stamp mark (?). Any further thoughts?

Re: Help with ID please - Yellow Pot
a bit of a puzzle,it has aspects that resemble French 'country pottery' but the shape and incised decoration reminds me of Belgian and German pottery....Possibly the potter was influenced by European pottery and tried a bit of everything
