Mid-century pottery vase, RF mark - Robert Fournier
Hi, I'm new here. I am a ceramic enthusiast from the Netherlands and have a question about a ceramic object I recently bought at a local thrift shop. The vase is signed AF or RF. The shape reminds me of work by Robert Fournier but I don't think the signature is right. Does anyone know who the maker is? Thank you very much for watching. mvg, Niels

Everyone there is no Robert Fournier thread? Niels looks right to me but normally incised mark RF - would be good to find another that had a hand painted mark. Sometimes potters just forget and mark it later

A lovely piece if it's correct!

The stoneware body and the glaze look like those on impressed marked work of his, after he and his wife rented space at Alan Wallwork Pottery on Blackheath Road, Greenwich, London.

Definitely Robert Fournier. Got a piece somewhat like that myself, and the textured finish and overlay are exactly right for his work. A really very underestimated potter who did some terrific work.
