Unfortunately, this piece doesn't have anything to do with real Inuits! Just a touristy-novelty piece IMO.

So Huronia Pottery was located west of Collingwood Ontario in Meaford. Founded by Tom Hrcek a Czech immigrant who had previously worked at Blue Mountain Pottery as a mold maker. The pottery came in many forms from vases, fruit bowls and animal figurines. Huronia items are found in many unique matte glazes and vibrant gloss colors. It closed after his death in the early 1970's.
