Signed studio pottery plate w/ charming painted turtles - help w/ signature
I have this 8" diameter plate or shallow bowl, painted with turtles. It looks pretty modern to me, but honestly I have no idea at all what it is and would be grateful for any hints. It's signed but I can't make out the signature at all. Thanks very much for your help!

Hi i have had a good look around aboriginal /folk art type websites but cant find any clues there. I wonder if the first word is 'north' or 'maret'?

Thanks so much, everyone. I will have a look at all those areas. Does it look pretty modern to you or older?

Quite modern, I'd guess this century.

Thank you. By "at least post war" do you mean it's 1940s at the oldest? (sorry for the dummy Q) :)

LOL No, I knew you meant WWII, but wasn't sure which direction 'at least' meant. Silly me!

Thanks. So you concur with Australian? I've been looking at a site that identifies Australian studio pottery marks but no match so far....
