Approximate age of Oriental Dish
Hi folks, I'm not expecting to ID the potter!, but some idea of the age of this dish would be appreciated.
It's all hand decorated & measures about 7 inches by 2.5 inches.
Not usually into this sort of stuff, but it caught my eye for £3.
Thanks,
Alan.

Re: Approximate age of Oriental Dish
Looks like an example of Koto-yaki Japanese porcelain, from the mid-late 19th Century. (a bit of a step up in quality from your usual Kutani ware, which often uses this colour of decoration).
You can see more if you google:

and:

Naomi - you've come up ace again! So worth £3 then?
Very many thanks, I've taken a look at some web sites turned up by searching as you suggest.
I only hope I can help folks with some of their ID wants in the months ahead.
Still trying to unpack & sort through crates of pots in the loft!

I'd pay more than that and I'd use it. Rather partial to a square plate!
