Eric Griffiths Figurine?
I've just bought this studio pottery figurine. The base is inscribed Eric Griffiths 81. I just wonder if it's the same Eric Griffiths who was Director of Design at Doulton? I haven't managed to find any photos online of his signature. Can somebody advise if it's his work or somebody else's? Thanks.

Doesn't look like his sort of work. Looks more like a student piece. That's not to say it isn't by him - was he a student back in 81?
There's currently a bull fighter listed on ebay by him "FULHAM POTTERY ERIC GRIFFITHS BULLFIGHTER" which looks more like his sort of style, and has various backstamps but no incised signature.

Hi Naomi, yes I've seen the bullfighter, there's also another one I've seen on I think it was Miller's website called "Priscilla" which is a bit more similar to this one in style. Also, he designed the Images series for Doulton in or around 1981 which again show some similarities, tough I think this is a bit more "contemporary".
