I will try and show the impressed mark...as usual any help much appreciated
...might start with a J or a backwards C

Might help if the picture was in focus and the vase titled to increase the shadow at the edge of the characters.

For hard to read marks, sometimes using a bright torch helps.

Keep coming back to this vase every time I see one by Janet Leach that has flanges on the side and a similar colour pallet. Any chance one of those marks is a JL?
