Studio Pottery Flagon, SS mark - French? Empty Studio Pottery Flagon, SS mark - French?

Any ID thoughts on this flagon please, I thought  mark was double S with second one reversed but on closer inspection it may be one mark rather than two. All thoughts appreciated John
