Sleeping Cat Tony Morris

Any help with this cat would be great, who ever it is knows cats and the anatomy of cats.It may look simple but it is well observed, my cat lays just like this with her tail tucked under her front paws,ears slightly down.

is the signature under the glaze?

Tony made these at home after being made redundant by Poole pottery,they were sold at the Purbeck pottery shop in Poole

HI the signiture is on top of the glaze I can feel it when I run my finger over it,the ginger is painted over the glaze as well giving it a matt finish.
