Reg Moon was the founder of Torquil pottery and The Gallery Upstairs in Henley-in-Arden,Warwickshire. Reg arrived in Henley in 1960, he and his wife Mag were a lovely couple. They would put on two exhibitions each year, a Summer one and a Christmas one. I attended many of them and was invited to the private views the day before they began.
Painters, potters, sculptors,....Michael Flemingham, Carey Moon, Alan Wallwork, Lyn Lovitt, David Leach.
This pot is hand signed Torquil Pottery.

I have a sinking feeling I saw something very like this in a charity shop a few weeks ago and ignored it. Silly me.

I only met Reg once when we sympathise with each other about how gallery owners were treated by certain potters!

I think I'd over bought that week. Sometimes I reach my limit, rare but does occasionally happen.

Items of Torquil in Arden pottery at auction a couple of weeks ago. Impressed Torquil in Arden. However the script was so small that I could not take a photo.
Torquil pottery was in Henley in Arden. Its a beautiful upmarket village with one long meandering High St about tem miles from Stratford Upon Avon. The gallery was a large one upstairs. Leading into a gorgeous large back garden with pieces displayed there. He did some fine exbibitions.
