Little Pastel Coloured Vase With Strange Mark - Pog Crafts
Hi everyone,
I picked up this little pot at a charity shop for 50p just because I liked the colours, I am totally stumped by the makers mark - I can't even work out what it is to try and search it, it looks like it's possibly modern but i'm not sure, any ideas would be much appreciated

Have I seen this mark before? Pog
Now that she knows I enjoy pots my sister searches charity shops etc to find anything she thinks I might like !! Not sure that I'm mad about this little pot though 9.5 cm high , very finely potted but with dull decoration. Not really sure what its meant to be ( if it's meant to BE anything )
When I first looked at the mark I immediately thought I'd seen it before , possibly on here . Anyone else recognise it - incised possibly C or GP
Thanks

Re: POG Crafts, Bedford
I wonder just how much POG crafts is out there. It is almost as ubiquitous in charity shops as copies of the Da Vinci Code

Nowhere near as many of "50 Shades of Grey" .... and most of them mint copies.

Re: POG Crafts, Bedford
Yes, it's a difficult one, but I think the glaze and clay points to Edinbane

Re: POG Crafts, Bedford
It isn't the stoneware body that they used at Edinbane and it isn't their mark as far as I am concerned.
However, what do we know?
See Ebay for details.

Small mid-brown vase - POG Crafts
Vase is about 3 inches high and 2.5 inches in diameter at the rim. The outer surface has a slightly rough textured glaze and the interior surface is a glossy dark brown/greenish glaze. The base of the pot is marked ?? oy. I have been unable to identify the maker - any help would be much appreciated.

Re: POG Crafts, Bedford
Edinbane Pottery marks are a lot different, I believe they are always Impressed too, where as POG is always incised, atleast as far as I am aware.

Re: POG Crafts, Bedford
Took me a while to realise that this mark is actually a monogram composed of 'G', 'O' and 'P'. And indeed though its sometimes loosely drawn, the horizontal line is usually attached to the central vertical, rather than to the curve.

EP mark on a Raku Pot - POG Crafts
I recently bought a Raku pot and have been trying to idntify the maker. Edinbane pottery kindly replied to my email and said it wasnt theirs. They suggested Elli Pearson, I have written a note a while ago via a gallery website but have not received a response. Have tried calling the contact phone number for POG Craft but it just rings no pick up or answer phone. I wonder if anyone can shed some light? Thnk you

Re: POG Crafts, Bedford
The mark looks right for Pog Crafts. There's also Erika Pierny, Germany, but the mark's not quite right and as far as I know she didn't do raku

Re: POG Crafts, Bedford
It may be my imagination, but it seems that POG doesn't inspire a great deal of enthusiasm amongst collectors. I don't know if this is because the charity shops are full of it, because the unglazed surfaces tend to collect collect dirt, or because of the silly name. I didn't bother with it for a long time, and still only have 3 pieces. But it's certainly with made great skill and confidence. Just look at the way the three colours of clay merge as they spiral up the vase:
This cost me 10p, which seems about the going rate.
