Schafer & Vater of Rudolstadt
Hey, I posted in here a week or so ago and had great results. I really appreciate all of your help.
I found this vase while cleaning out the basement at my parents, they don't know anything about it.
I tried to look online but really didn't have too much to search on. There is a mark on the bottom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,

There also looks to be a number on the bottom but I can't make it out. :(

Re: Schafer & Vater of Rudolstadt
I believe so, but I am very new to pottery, have just started collecting. Have been going through my families basements for old lost glass and pottery that they do not care about lol Adding them to my small collection.
The vase is very smooth, and is fairly light weight wise.

Re: Schafer & Vater of Rudolstadt
Last Question: Could you venture to guess when this type of piece would have been made. I saw that the company started in 1890 and went to 1962. I really appreciate all of the help!

Also, the 4 digit number looks to be 5115. If that helps!

I would say it was early too (close to 1890), otherwise it would have a country of origin stamp to comply with the import tarrifs imposed at the turn of the Century.
schafer and vater of Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany.
I have had this ornament for many years and its amazes me as the frog seems to be enjoying being tickled by the lion.
I know its made by Schafer and Vater as its got the 3 point crown with the 9 point star. I cannot put a year to it.. but assume about 1900 its got a kind of lushre ware look about it. I would love to find a value for it too.
