Glass owl - Scandi?
This owl is 15cm tall, with a hole in the base. Anyone seen one of these before? Fair bit of wear on the base.

Found similar looking ones on the swaziglass website. They may be by the Ngwenya glass factory, Swaziland

I can see your line of thought, but I can't see anything like this. Still think it's Scandinavian - there's a feel of Mats Jonasson's Maleras owls about it.

Re: Glass owl - Scandi?
If it's a smallish hole in the base that opens out to a bubble inside the owl, then it might be Polish.
Always useful to post a base photo.

Yeah, I said it had a hole in the base. Got any reference?

Forgot to add 6" high weighs almost a kilo a hole in the base which opens out into a huge bubble which makes the core which is bright clear crystal (not sure if that could be achieved with re-cycled glass though?

I've never seen an Owl like that but I have a Krosno (Poland) bowl with a hole in the bottom and bubble blown inside the (very thick) base. Bubble is about 1" in diameter in my bowl.

I'm going to stick with Ngwenya Glass.
I wouldn't get too hung up on whether or not it's 'recycled' glass. You'd only know if it was recycled if they put in additives to make a load of bubbles, like the recycled Egyptian glass.
