chinese bottle vase ID help
Trying to find out a little more on this item but chinese and japanese stuff is so vast I need a starting point. Can anyone help please

again Japanese.. you can't tell the maker you can only date it.. no maker mark on this one... from the look's of it i'd gone early 20th century

Looks like Japanese Satsuma porcelain. Late 19th - Early 20th Century, made for export to Europe.

I agree with the others, though I would have thought it's white Earthenware.

Yes, sorry, I shouldn't have said porcelain. Of course Satsuma ware is earthenware, otherwise it wouldn't have it's typical crackle glaze.

So it's a turn of the century Japanese Satsuma moriage (beaded - moriage is Japanese version of slip decoration) earthenware sake vessel

Correction, long necked vase, rather than Sake bottle. Sake bottle would be a different (often a cylinder) shape with a pouring lip or pouring rim.

Don't Think Its Export Ware As It Would Have To Be Marked Nippon/Japan As The McKinley Tariff Act 1891 Specified That All Wares Had To Be Marked For Export As Was The British Import Duty Act 1932 Was Probably Made For A Japanese Household
