Small vase - Somero Suomi (Finland)
Hello everyone, this is my first post & just have to say before I start what a wonderful site this is, such a great knowledge base & from reading other people's posts everybody is so friendly & helpful. I have quite a few pieces I am trying to identify but to start with & I have a small little vase which is 8cm high & 150g. There is a 3 line inscribed signature to the base but can't make out what it says & I have had a good go guessing, I think the last word may say Suomi/Guomi but not sure, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I thought it had a bit of an oriental feel to it but the fact the lettering looks English threw me off

Fed the first and last words into google and they're Finnish, so it's a very sweet little vase made in Finland. Not sure who by, though.

A lot of Western studio potters have copied the Oriental look. This is similar, but even without the non-oriental words, the base isn't right for a Japanese or Chinese pot.

Not exactly, no. Just that they've led to Finnish sites, eg, 'Suomi' is mentioned in the context of a 'Arabia Suomi Finlandia ceramic vase'

I don't think there is any connection to Arabia.
Somero (2nd word) is a town, with pottery clay, in SW Finland.
The first word will be a pottery or potter's name I guess.
