I was given this whilst in Peru in 1966 and have never attempted to find out anything about it. What can anyone tell me?

It is 5.25" tall and weighs 1 lb.

I think you would need to take it to a museum.
I've found the Smithsonian is very good at answering email enquiries if you include photos.
