Nope lol ... that's the design ... he makes whole plates and then breaks them into large pieces ... he then recontructs the pieces and fuses them together ... his glass work is amazing ... he was at one stage European glass blower of the year ... I went to one of his demos yesterday - fascinating.

I got this floor-standing piece a few years back but it became detached from it's base ... I have recently had it repaired by the artist himself and it's now standing proud once more ... apologies for the graininess of the foto ...
