Sgraffito jug, decorated with cats

Unmarked except for a pair of small circles at the base of the handle.
My first thought was an early Len Stockley - the seller had had it for over 15yrs.

Oh, well the jury's still out, then.

Looking through a selection of Stockely's pieces, there are significant differences, such as the shape and position of the handle; the deeper spout (French?); the slip layer around the rim (which is more of a Devon thing, and possibly French); the fact the base has not been smoothed off (Stockely's bases are smooth and inscribed); the lack of piped slip decoration - which was his forte, although not all pieces have it.
So now I'm thinking Devon or France.

Looks nothing like Stockley to me to be honest.
