To add, this is at the utilitarian, rather than the collectable, end of their range of stoneware items.

thanks naomim it is very similar... that makes mark could it be one of their designers isn't it? perhaps i should email them and try to find out more on that makers mark itself

westerwald is an area of Germany you can't email it?

The jug is not by the company M. Girmscheid but by Werner Corzelius from Höhr-Grenzhausen.
Their mark since the 1970s is a "W" within a "C"!
