Shallow stoneware dish ?Arthur Griffiths
I got this in Kendal, Cumbria. Someone has gone to the trouble of restoring it using filler over-painted such that it was almost impossible to tell. It has an elegant profile and a distinctive footring. There is no mark and I have not been able to identify it.
Now I wonder if it could be by Arthur Griffiths as it has some similarities to a recent piece sold on ebay (181061157760 completed listings).
Does anyone know AGs work and can verify? Thanks for looking.

I don't think it is. I'm not seeing enough similarities between this and Griffiths works.

Glossier glaze, paler clay, wider foot....etc.

I might still have a lidded bowl of his somewhere - if I can find it I'll take some pictures and post them here.
