Could this be a Gramann Pottery "Devo Style"
I've done my homework and scoured the internet before I came here to ask for help
I checked Gins site and found what looks like the mark for this piece on Gramann.
The thing is the clay looks more pink to beige and you can see by the Devo Hat style it looks nothing like any of the pieces up there.
Because it's says only Germany could it be a much newer piece? Any info would be great
TIA

I would say the "Germany" definitely indicates a "newer" or post 1990 production but the posters here could confirm that. Almost all the older pieces of Germany pottery I have - if they have a country of origin mark - always say either "W. Germany" or "West Germany."

I found it up for sale. I was thinking of buying it but the seller doesn't know anything about it but what it says on the bottom. I'll check the thread to get the info. Thanks

If the impressed mark is Sk , it might be a Soendgen Keramik product

If the impressed mark reads S & S (and i think that´s more likely than S G )
it could be Stützel & Sachs at Aalen. Unsure though. Production was discontinued
as late as in the 1990s, that would explain the GERMANY mark.
But i would have expected white i.o. pinkish clay.

It looks 80s 90s new wave-ish style. I figured it was post Berlin Wall.
Usually if something is newer in the states it was made in China not Germany. By the 1990s Americans wanted everything cheap and it came back to kick us in the ass and ruin our economy. Companies like Nike learned they could move their factories out of the US use cheap child labor and make a fortune. Places like Walmart started to dictate how much a factory could sell a broom for and American factories could not compete with China and the crap they imported here. Now they own us..and everything here is from there

The more I look at it the more I am convinced it's a modern Soendgen Keramik , I have looked at their site and the wording and impressed SK mark matches .

I think you are right. Thank you. It's still better than anything made in China
