Raku pot signed Marsha

Hi!
Yet another flea market find. The pot is not large - about 6" tall. I think it's raku - it has a fairly uneven crackle glaze. I think the signature says "Marsha" but it could be something else. I've contacted a couple of potters by the name Marsha who make raku pots but it's not theirs. Maybe a student piece?
The clay under the glaze is very dark, almost black. Is that what's called stoneware?
