Svend Bayer mark?
Does anyone know if Svend Bayer has changed his mark over time?
I'm interested in a jug on ebay that's listed as STUDIO POTTERY SLIPWARE JUG - IMPRESSED MARK ? but the impressed mark is a small sb rather than a capital SB.

Re: Svend Bayer mark?
He has changed his mark is that he doesn't use one.
At Wenford Bridge he did use a capital SB mark and continued to do so until around the mid 1990s when he was working on his own. Since then his work has been unmarked but he has always worked in stoneware.
I have seen the jug that you are talking about and it does look attractive but it isn't by Svend. Mick the seller is most reliable and I am sure he would have known if it was by Svend in any case.

Cheers, studiopots.
I'm a sucker for slipware, but I think hubby would have a fit if I snuck another jug into the house.

Looks like gb to me, but I'm not sure.
Quite a nice jug regardless.
I've bought an item from that seller, was exactly as described.
