wall plaques
I prefer ceramic wall plaques to the paintings I can buy for under £50 so my house has 3 or 4 plaques for every one painting,
Here are some great examples

Re: wall plaques
Did you see the Derek Davis one sold on eBay recently? I was going to bid but missed it. Don't think the seller knew it was his but the signature was clear. It had some chips but went for about £40 if I recall

Re: wall plaques
I don't mind plaques, but I much rather paintings.
It's surprising the quality of some paintings that can be had for under £50 if you keep an eye open. Almost all of mine were well under £50 and I like them anyway.

Re: wall plaques
I think the only one I have that cost over £50, was the pair of pheasants by David Buckle, I had just turned 16 (I think) and had seen that in a local auction, so that's where most of my birthday money went
