Green glazed pottery candelabra - origin ?
Anybody care to hazzard a guess as to the origins of this candlestick ? it has a few chips and one of the holders glued back on , also various bits of attached from the firing , it has a high conted of lead in the glaze giving an iridescent glow on it , rather wonkly made and unmarked about 8 2 high , what date does anyone think ? , country of origin ? also any idea what this type is called ? , just any info please , Ta .

If you're asking then I guess it's not Farnham or Castle Hedingham Pottery. So I'd say Hungarian folkware.

I can't find another pottery candlestick like this on the net anywhere , on closer inspection each holder has a tiny raised lump and the three small holders are angled inwards to gather the wax drips , quite a clever design imo does anyone know the name of this style ? or seen similar , I believe this older than I first thought .

If you want guesses, here is mine:
Mid 19th Century French.
I'd have thought it's a type of candelabrum, but seems somewhere between the two.
If you think it's "something", you need to contact a specialist really.

Re: Green glazed pottery candelabra - origin ?
I have contacted a couple of specialists Potty ..........they only refer others , I thought candelabra , but wasn't sure if that was an english term or not , but yes I agree french is a strong possibility , I also think your date could be correct , it was a £5 buy and a no brainer , I hope it finds a good home , It's deffo not a copy that much I'm sure of .

If you have a good local auction near you with a ceramics specialist (or failing that a general valuer who actually specialises in antique ceramics), they should at least be able to give you a good educated guess.
