Blyth Pottery? (English)
I’m so happy to have found this forum! I’m just learning about pottery, glass and ceramics, and this will be a great resource! Thank you all for sharing your knowledge!
I’ve obtained this pitcher and bowl, and the seller told me it was “antique”. It doesn’t look “antique”, although I’m sure it is vintage. The mark is “B P Co Ltd” then, underneath “England”. There is a hand painted “14669” number underneath the mark. The mark is on the bottom of the bowl, and there are no marks on the pitcher. The bottoms of both are glazed, and the mark and painted number are on top of the glaze.
From what I can find on Blyth, it was around from 1905 – 1935, and this mark is the Blyth mark that I’ve seen posted on other sources. However, the Blyth patterns are all very formal and flowery. This set is a solid lilac color. The solid, pastel color and the almost perfect glazing make me think it is more contemporary than 1935.
It’s pretty & I like it – but is it authentic? I’m reselling and want to make sure I do not give out misinformation about the bowl and pitcher. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Re: Blyth Pottery? (English)
The colour and form looks right for that period to me.
Reminds me of some of the early Shelly.
I would have said late 1920's personally.
It's what I would deem a "collectable" rather than "antique". As I deem "antiques" to be items that are 100+ years old, though this is getting close to that

Yes, I'm with you on "antique" -- 100 years at least!
Thank you so much! This piece is in better shape than I thought!

Re: Blyth Pottery? (English)
Potty is right, as this was a colour popular in the UK in the 1920s and used by many companies.
