Just looked at his website, which is rather odd as it's all grey until you move onto the image and colour appears.
I did that as I don't know his work and the mark on this teapot doesn't look exactly like that shown in "the book". However the knob on the lid of the teapot is more distinctive than the mark and it must be by him looking at examples on his site.

I agree, I had a quick peek at the website, albeit on my iphone, the shape and style of the teapot is very distinctive, the grooves in the handle, the way the spout is shaped all match, I couldn't find his back stamp though (again quickly looking on iphone). Will need to do a little more digging to see if he worked anywhere else, and also find that signature. Is 'the book' you refer to the one that is also stored electronically online? The British Potters book?

I once went to a few of George's pottery classes in Gateshead. I think it's probably by him. You might be able to contact him via his website.
