I was wondering if it was a personalised version of the Wenford Bridge mark by a student or Danlami Aliyu. Would that have been allowed?

Te 'gull' shape is similar to Emmanuel Cooper's mark, but he didn't have letters with it, and his later work was brightly coloured porcelain. However, reading his obituary his early work was utilitarian tablewares. A long shot, but maybe someone has an example of his early work/mark for comparison?

His early work was the most tedious brown stoneware that you could imagine.

At Wenford students were allowed to use their own mark when they were thought proficient enough but that was alongside the standard Wenford Bridge mark.
