Here's a bowl with both mark and label which came as part of a lot at auction yesterday.

Preserve pot with MT and RCP marks - Michael Tovey, Rowlstone Pottery
I found on online but it didn't give the name of the pottery or potter.

The mark is definitely his - the RCP pottery mark doesn't match - perhaps he changed it.

Hi Johners2000
This is definitely a pot of Michael Tovey of Rowlestone Pottery (b.1930-d.1991) - my dad! He also had a stamp with a single 'R'. It's a nice one - enjoy it.

Re: Michael Tovey - Rowlstone Church Pottery
Hi guys
Just an update to your long conversation. Michael Tovey (1930-1991) (my dad) set up Rowlestone Church Pottery when he retired. He had been an art and ceramics teacher all his life. Most of his pots were practical as well as beautiful. The oak leaf was his design of choice, as well as dragons and birds. His work seems to be better known now than when he was alive. He would be really pleased that his work was appreciated.
Best wishes.

That is nice! A good deal further up the studio pottery quality ladder than the domestic pieces we have seen on here. Where did you get that Dan?
