ID Help Please, Modernist Vase Empty ID Help Please, Modernist Vase

Probably hot from the kiln, but worth 99p of this month's pension! Any ideas please, or just mass produced far eastern?
Mark on base look like 68. Stands 8 inches tall.

I would guess Japanese studio pottery. The inscription down the side might include the potter's name.

It is a factory made piece - moulded and stamped serial number but if you like it 99p is a bargain.
