Wensleydale Pottery (Simon & Rebecca Shaw)
Just got this from a friend who was having a clearout so I thought I'd continue educating everyone about Yorkshire potters (!) and post it here. I used to visit their pottery in Hawes up in Wensleydale when they were in a converted Methodist Chapel at Town Foot which they moved to in 2002. According to BSPM they started off on Hawes Market Square in 1983. They were still trading in 2010 but have been closed for at least a year now, possibly longer.
The jug is wheelthrown stoneware with blue and brown glazes which are quite characteristic. 9.6cm (height). Handle broken and reglued.

I stand corrected! I was working in Hawes today and during my lunchbreak discovered that the Wensleydale Pottery is alive and kicking in a nice new unit on the Bruntacres Industrial Estate.

They also run a take away, delivering fresh Fish N "Chips"
Awful joke I know...
The pottery all looks to be well made.

It is. Very functional, indeed, I had tea served out of it this week in a local farmer's kitchen
