Nicely painted bird, looks like a cuckoo to me. Impressed CH and CBP alongside.

Anything to suggest this came from US? I think it's Cornwall Bridge Pottery.
A quick google shows they had a potter called Cary Hulin.

In fact definbitely Cornwall Bridge Pottery, if you visit their website you can choose this decoration on current production. It's called "Bird - Multicolor".

Re: Studio Jug with Bird - Cary Hulin, Cornwall Bridge Pottery
After Gareth's brilliant spot I did a little digging, as the shape of the jug looked familiar, and found the reason why.
The pottery was originally set up by two potters who met at Wenford Bridge while doing their apprenticeship with Michael Cardew - Todd Piker, who still runs the pottery, and Svend Bayer, who was there about a year before coming back to England to start his own pottery in 1975.
It seems as if Cary Hulin worked at Cornwall Bridge for 4 years c1988 to 1992.

It certainly has that traditional West Country Studio shape to it, nice info thank you. I'm guessing the Wenford Bridge bird would have been an influence in the decoration as well.
