Large charger with 'R' mark and signature.

This large charger has been baffling me for a while now, so any thoughts as to its maker would be most welcome. It's signed with a letter 'R' with an upright tail, followed by some inscribed writing - possibly the name Ruth. The closest mark I can find to it is that of Ruth Duckworth, but this piece doesn't resemble anything I've ever seen by her, so I'm guessing it may be the work of a non-UK potter.

Looks like 'Ruth' to me, but not a mark I've come across before. Might be a combined RD?

Thank you for taking the time to look. I agree that 'Ruth' is the closest that I can make out, but I can't think of any potters with the name Ruth in the UK whose work is like that, which makes me think it may be the work of a non-UK Ruth.
