John Swinburne - Google draws a blank.
The only John Swinburne I can find died in 1860. Anyone have any ideas on this?

I'm not able to find a mention of any artist with that name or other similar possibilities in "Artists in Britain since 1945".
Any labels on the back?

Thanks! Only reference on the back is to the framers in Richmond... looks competent. But a bit of a mystery.

Is there a telephone number for the framers and, if so. 01, 081 or 020?
It looks too good to be a complete unknown.

That's what I thought.
There is no number. But I've just mailed the gallery to ask if they can shed any light. Might just be a piece they've framed but worth a try.
Will let you know if I hear anything!

Re: John Swinburne - Google draws a blank.
I can answer all questions if you have further?
The painting is from the early 60's and the framers you are referring to no longer exists as that building was demolished. If possible would like to see a clearer image as this one is to pixalated when enlarged.
The artists exhibited mainly in the north of England and London during the sixties and seventies and also is my father.
Please refer to 20th Century Painters and Sculptors: 006 (Dictionary of British Art) by Francis Spalding for a biography.

Re: John Swinburne - Google draws a blank.
Thanks so much for posting. I'm on holiday right now. But I'll take some more pictures and post when I get back (next Sunday). I'd be very interested in seeing any more pieces you have.
