Large yellow studio pottery bowl

I have a really old 16" diameter 4" deep bright yellow bowl that I'm trying to find out more about. If anyone can help me decipher the maker that would be fantastic. I am led to believe that it was given to my Grandmother by a man who was a set designer at Paramount Studios back in the 1940's, but I'm not positive. The mans name was Irving White if memory serves. Not sure where he got it. Thanks for looking.
