9 inch grotesque quuens head with bronzed finish - possibly amateur
Hi
There was a king's head also but it was really quite damaged. Quite possibly an amateur piece but still rather interesting work with a deep cast bronze effect glaze. No maker's marks anywhere.

Might be a reproduction of a Medieval piece, sold to visitors to museums or churches.

...looks like the original may have be carved from wood.

As there was a king and queen they may have been sold as a pair of bookends.
