Brickhurst Pottery, Keith and Fiona Richardson

With it's black glaze and classical shape it's very like Prinknash and Dicker Potteries.

It's often compared to Prinknash though quite different in form and composition , Keith & foina Richardson who ran the dicker pottery for Wightman & Parish moved to Laughton and set up Brickhurst Pottery a few pots are still produced inthe Sussex shapes .

Did Keith run Dicker, or was he just an ex-Dicker potter who'd trained there?

Right , the way I read it is the company changed names , became known as Dicker Potteris Ltd. that was 1947 , shortly after an Irnmonger & hardware firm Wighman & parish of Lewes Sussex , this started the decine of the pottery , Keith & FIona ran it until 1956 then they moved to brickhurst .

Well, it seems to be a type of beer made by various breweries.

I'm not entirely convinced the lettering is original. Is it glaze or paint?

It looks like a surface enamel or paint and might scrub off but it's part of its history so I'm leaving it on.
