Pair of porcelain teapots by Bridget Drakeford, signed on the foot rim, plus stamped with BD in a star.
Porcelain teapots in the Chinese style are her forte.

Hi all

Picked this up today for the grand some of £12. I thought I had got lucky with a Mary Rich but I think it says Bridget Drakeford although the last letter on the signature sure looks like a B not a D? Anyone have an opinion on if this is by Bridget and any links to similar works so I can get an idea of its age.

Yes it looks right to me, I have seen gilded pieces like yours before, looking similar
to Mary Rich.

I think I have solved it. The final letter B is her date code. I have been able to find various pots with similar signatures but different final letters and that suggests a code.
